In both cultures, food is a sacred unifier for bringing people together. With distinct culinary traditions, both cultures are avid users of spices, have rich and hearty flavors, and a focus on comfort foods. To name a few traditional Black foods: Gumbo and Jambalaya, Fried Chicken, Collard and Mac & Cheese. To name a few traditional Jewish foods: Matzo Ball Soup, Latkes, Smoked and cured meats like Brisket, Smoked Salmon and Pastrami.
